Patriots vs. Texans: Friday's Injury Report
The New England Patriots have a few players who are questionable for the divisional round playoff game against the Houston Texans. Running back Terrell Jennings and outside linebacker Harold Landry III have been designated as questionable, while cornerback Christian Gonzalez has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and is expected to play.
The Texans will be without two wide receivers, Nico Collins and Justin Watson, who have both been in the concussion protocol for three consecutive practices. Collins, a Pro Bowler, caught 71 passes for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns in 15 regular-season games. He was carted to the locker room during the wild-card game at Acrisure Stadium.
The Patriots have opened a 21-day window for Jennings to return, as he had been placed on injured reserve due to a concussion during the bye week in December. Gonzalez, who entered the NFL's concussion protocol last weekend, has progressed from a non-contact jersey to a full participant in consecutive sessions.
Landry, the veteran sack leader for the AFC's No. 2 seed, has been managing a knee injury since late in the fall and was ruled out for back-to-back games to end the regular season. He was a non-participant on Friday.
Other notable players to watch include corner Alex Austin, who is working back from a wrist procedure, and all-purpose nose tackle Khyiris Tonga, who is set to face the Texans after missing the previous three games due to a foot injury.
The Patriots' head coach expressed hope that Tonga can resume his productive role as an interior, rotational player, emphasizing the importance of his performance on Sunday.
